  • Skin: Fur
  • Distinctive Features: Cat paws, cat ears, cat tails, fur, homemade masks.

NOTES:

  • They are a free-love type society.
  • Females will only produce Tikicats.
  • Interspecies will have whatever the female is.
  • Babies are live-born, and are tiny. Their eyes are closed and their ears are folded down. They are helpless at this stage. Survival rates for orphaned babies is extremely low.
  • Children will require food hunted for them, and are still rather vulnerable to predators. Their senses are becoming sharper. This is the stage where they start testing their boundaries. Play-fighting is not uncommon as it serves as a method to learn pain thresholds, and ability limitations.

Behavior & Society

  • Social Structure: Males and females are equal in the tribe. Most of the time it is hard to tell a female from a male behind the mask.

Cultural Practices
  • They live in tribes. Tribes will include several families.
  • They wear wooden masks that are handed down to them from their parents. Their parents usually will paint the face.
  • They carry sticks that serve as many tools, but most often as a fishing pole or fishing toy.
  • They worship the Thunderbird, Wakinyan as their deity. They are protective of him.
  • They have ritualistic dances, such as rain dances and sun dances and wedding dances and fishing dances. They like to dance.
  • Adults spend much of their time hunting, fishing and dancing.
  • If a Tikicat is encountered in the natural habitat on Venus’ Resort Island, they will feel threatened and are prone to attack.
  • They will woo each other by doing the mating dance.
  • They collect little things that can be carried back to their hut, or home on the mainland.

History

  • Origin: They were first discovered by Pae'il when a Venus party took a trip to another island. They have since then been finding their way to Telrunya via this boat's trips back and forth from the islands- giving them an opportunity to create new tribes on Telrunya.
Historical Events
  • A bunch of Pae show up on their island- how rude? You weren't invited? After some nonsense later, they manage to drive them off but not before some of them stowed away on the ship. They have now made a home for themselves on Telrunya.
Interactions with other Species
  • They have no quarrel with any other species, but tend to seek out harpies looking for their deity. Some have even found other male harpies that they now think they're 'serving' in a religious manner.
